Share Post:

Congratulations to Dr Anthea Skinner and her team on their 2025 Melbourne Award for Access and Inclusion* for their Adaptive Music Bridging Program.

Anthea and her team, in association with the Melbourne Youth Orchestra, launched the Adaptive Music Bridging Program in 2023 to encourage children with a disability to actively engage in creating music through learning the use of adaptive musical instruments. The program has been run successfully over the past 3 years.

In 2022, Anthea received seed-funding from Healthy Trajectories to develop a framework to assess the suitability of music technologies for individual students.

*The Melbourne awards by the City of Melbourne, are a series of awards intended to recognise projects and people around the city that improve the lives of its citizens.
