In celebration of International Day of People with Disability, the inaugural MSHS Presents webinar, “Learning Together in Disability: Sharing Knowledge through Partnerships”, was held. This webinar focused on health researchers, clinicians, industry, and those with lived experience of disability working together to foster partnerships, improve practice and advocate for change.
The University of Melbourne’s MSHS is committed to working with people with lived experience of disability, interdisciplinary researchers and practitioners, cross-sector communities, and policy makers to drive health sciences research that improves health and social outcomes for people with disability.
Hosted by Professor Bruce Thompson, Head of MSHS and MSHS Disability and Inclusion Research Hub Champions, Dr Lyndal Hickey, and Dr Rachel Toovey, we heard from Matt Warren (CEO at Yooralla), our own Sevastine Katsakis (Consumer Engagement Officer – Healthy Trajectories) and Professor Alicia Spittle (Associate Dean Research, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences).
We hope you enjoy watching this recording. If you are interested in connecting with the Disability and Inclusion Research Hub, please contact Dr Lyndal Hickey ([email protected]) or Dr Rachel Toovey ([email protected]).
The Healthy Trajectories Child and Youth Disability Research Hub acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to the lands and waterways on which we live, learn and work. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to Elders past, present and emerging.
