Congratulations to Eliza Hull for being awarded the Order of Australia Medal in recognition for her advocacy work in the disabled community and contribution to the arts!
Eliza is a mother of 2 beautiful children and is an award-winning singer songwriter, author and disability advocate. Her book, co-authored with Sally Rippin, ‘Come Over to My House’, was recently voted to be in the top 10 of The Guardian Australia’s Top Australian Books of All Time (2026 Poll). She lives with a neurological condition called Charcot Marie Tooth.
She said this on her social media pages:
“At the heart of all of this, my proudest achievement has been creating representation for young people to see themselves in books and the media, and advocating for a music industry that truly reflects the talent, leadership and creativity of artists with disability, in ways that are inclusive and accessible.“
Eliza is a community representative on our Healthy Trajectories Advisory Committee and an integral part of our community. We are incredibly delighted for her to be honoured for her relentless work in disability advocacy and contribution to the arts. We wish her all the very best as she continues her amazing work and can’t wait to hear her upcoming album.
