This tool was developed by participants in the Family Engagement in Research (FER) course in 2023.
This tool is a table that is written in plain language for potential lived experience advisors, consumers, lay people, health professionals and researchers. It breaks down the steps of the research journey and informs researchers of examples of how Lived Experience Advisors (LEAs) can be involved across each step of the cycle. It further highlights valuable considerations when applying Trauma Informed Principles during the research process as well.
The team also developed an infographic to accompany the table.
The Healthy Trajectories Child and Youth Disability Research Hub acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to the lands and waterways on which we live, learn and work. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to Elders past, present and emerging.
