Participation Across The Life Course

Participation and Mental Health

Active

Mental health problems and participation restrictions are reported for children with disabilities relatively often.

This research program is being done in collaboration with the CHILD research group in Sweden, led by Prof. Mats Granlund. In this research program, mental health and participation of children and young people with disabilities are investigated. The focus is on how mental health develops over time and on how the active participation of children and parent/carers in the rehabilitation process can be increased.

The program has two parts, a longitudinal study and a part about the active participation of children and parents in the rehabilitation process.

If you would like to read more about the program of research you can visit CHILD’s website – be sure to click on the English version of the site!

This study received funding from the Swedish Disability Research Council.
