In this video interview, Professor Christine Imms talks with Professor Sarath Ranganathan, Head of the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne about the establishment of Healthy Trajectories, its journey and partnerships.
Christine conveys her mission to lead the Healthy Trajectories team to progress a research strategy that improves the lives and lifespan of those with child-onset disability and their families. The team focuses on meaningful collaborations to achieve the National Disability Research Agenda. These partnerships involve consumer engagement and co-design with people spanning many and various categories of lived experience of disability, researchers and professionals.
The interview also covers how Healthy Trajectories came about with generous funding support from The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and how it aims to build on the collaborative networks of the University of Melbourne, The Royal Children’s Hospital, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, families and service providers and local, national and international research partners.
The Healthy Trajectories Child and Youth Disability Research Hub acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to the lands and waterways on which we live, learn and work. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to Elders past, present and emerging.
