The International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is celebrated on the 3rd of December each year. This past year Eliza Hull was recognised for her contribution and achievements as one of the 4.4 million Australians with disability. Eliza is an award-winning musician, writer and speaker who is empowered to change how the world views disability. As a 2022 IDPwD Ambassador Eliza speaks of her experience as a child and of her advocacy to be a parent with disability.
Now a mother of two children, Eliza is passionate about creative thinking and this focus on parenting with a disability has led to the creation of a Radio National podcast series and book titled “We’ve Got This” – which is a collection of chapters written by different parents with disability about their parenting experiences. Eliza also celebrates the achievements and problem-solving ability of those who parent children with disabilities. Congratulations Eliza, your continued advocacy for families with disability is greatly appreciated!
