Recruitment open: CP Movetime – Feasibility and Knowledge Translation

CP Movetime have developed a mobile app, that when used in conjunction with a wearable sensor can monitor the movement of children with cerebral palsy.

We are looking for children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, aged 5-17 years old who are classified within GMFCS levels IV or V.

The study will begin on March 9, 2026.
A knowledge translation phase will begin in May to June 2026 if you miss out on the study.

A flyer for Carlee Holmes' MoveTime study. Would you like to be part of the CP Movetime research study? Children with cerebral palsy can spend more than 96% of their day seated or lying down. Not moving can lead to poor health outcomes. In partnership with children with cerebral palsy, their families, and health care workers, the CP Movetime team have developed a mobile app, that when used in conjunction with a wearable sensor can monitor the movement of children with cerebral palsy. Working with a clinician to set and monitor movement goals, CP Movetime encourages more movement, using technology to improve the health of children with cerebral palsy. Study overview: The study runs for 8 weeks Participants will wear a small lightweight sensor on the thigh for the duration of the study Working with a clinician weekly (in person or via tele-health), participants will set and review movement goals, in order to reduce sedentary behaviour Participants will need access to a smart phone to utilise the CP Movetime app. Training will be provided Parents of participants will be asked to answer online questionnaires weekly Who can be involved: Children and adolescents with cerebral palsy 5-17 years old Classified within GMFCS levels IV or V (that is, use a wheelchair for mobility) This study has been approved by Curtin University HREC (HRE2023-0032) University of Melbourne HREC: 33113 Site contacts: Christine Imms christine.imms@unimelb.edu.au Study Flyer_ Version 1 UoM site 16/06/2025
